ABOUT ME
I graduated with a BFA in Selected Studies through Syracuse University’s School for Visual and Performing Arts in 1978 studying studio arts, ceramics, and special education as well as attending the Special Education Masters Program at Widener University several years later.
STUDIO ARTIST & EDUCATOR. Ceramic Art, Abstract Paintings, and Workshops.
I utilized my studio arts and clay background to design and implement a creative curriculum as a teacher of special needs students. I continued this work as the Supervisor for a day program for adults with cognitive and physical disabilities for several years, and currently continue to teach pottery classes at several Adult Day Programs for special needs as well as holding clay workshops.
My current work utilizes a multidisciplinary approach producing nature inspired clay vessels and most recently my exploration of acrylic abstract paintings on canvas and clay. The beauty of nature’s colors and organic forms as well as music are my inspiration, focusing on textures on the clay surface as well as on a 2-D canvas.
